A QUINTA # THE FARM

A Quinta do Freixo é uma propriedade com cerca de 660 Ha situada na zona de transição entre o "Barrocal" e a "Serra Algarvia", pertencendo à mesma família há mais de um século. As suas atividades agricolas, pecuárias, florestais, de transformação e serviços integram o conceito de desenvolvimento sustentado contido nos programas nacionais da UNCCD, pelo que em 2013 foi a única entidade privada em Portugal a ser galardoada com o certificado "Dryland Champions" da ONU.

Quinta do Freixo is a farm with approximately 660 Ha situated in the transition zone between the "Barrocal" and "Serra Algarvia" belonging to the same family for more than one century. Its actual agricultural, livestock, forestal and multiple goal activities fit the concept of suatainable development enclosed in the national programs of the UNCCD which is why it was the sole private entity in Portugal to be awarded in 2013 with the UNO "Dryland Champions" certificate
